We are pleased to announce a very special program that is being continued at our school on Thursday November 29th 2018, our Good Men Good Relationships Program. This is a program for boys created with the purpose of spending time explaining and understanding a variety of issues facing our young male students today.
Issues that will be discussed in a safe and nurturing environment will include goal setting, challenges that men face today, discussing domestic violence, understanding mental health issues and encouraging them with some resilience training.
It’s a jam-packed day and it will also include guest speakers and professionals who are stepping in to help mentor the boys and inspire them to aim high and make good and safe choices in their lives.
Given the success of the ABC’s Man-Up documentary series and various campaigns about masculinity and men's mental health it is pertinent that we continue this important conversation with our male students. We are thus excited to announce that Triple MMM Disk Jockey Gus Worland, co-creator of the ABC Man-Up series, will be presenting on the day.
Morning Tea and a BBQ will be provided for students and all participants of the program.
We take pride in offering our students such positive, useful & cutting edge experiences. The Beacon & Opportunity Program at South Sydney High School has presented us many of these opportunities and we feel very lucky to be able to offer this to our Year 10 students.
