Volunteering is a great way to do something for your community, to help others, and feel a sense of achievement and satisfaction from participating in activities that will benefit others. It's also highly valued by potential employers.
For students in Years 9 and 10 the NSW Premier's Volunteering Awards formally acknowledges students contribution towards helping others.
The school coordinator for this program is Ms H Stell. Meetings are held Thursday lunch time in room C16 for any Year 9 and 10 students who are interested.
The NSW Premier's Student Volunteering Awards structure has various levels, with certificates issued to reflect greater voluntary contribution.
Participating students can accumulate their volunteering hours during Years 9 and 10. Recognition is as follows:
- Bronze award - 20 volunteering hours
- Silver award - 40 volunteering hours
- Gold award - 60 volunteering hours
- Diamond award - 80 volunteering hours.
